MOPA Phoneography workshop in OB

Quick post here:  I took a 3-hr Phoneography workshop from Museum of Photographic Arts in Balboa Park (MOPA).  Leland Forester led the group and the workshop was held in Ocean Beach.    CJ & Rich were among the enrollees.

Irish dance photos

My daughter-in-law, Cat, requested photos of the girls in their Irish dance clothes & shoes for a project she has in mind.   I was glad to oblige and the girls really got into it.

This last one was just for us.  Ellery wanted to try her had at photography too.   Thanks for the suggestion, Cat.  I had so much fun with the girls with this project.

A walk to the Baja Gardens in the Safari Park

 

After being cooped up in a jury selection "lounge" all morning, and after being told I wasn't needed (around noonish), I decided to get outside and get some exercise.

The walk up to the Baja Gardens at the Safari Park seemed to be calling ... and I'm so glad I went.  Lots of cacti  still in bloom, and although it maybe difficult to see, there is a dove on top of the bloom in the plant (right).  




The Epiphyllum Greenhouse was open and much to my surprise, there were a few plants blooming. Judging by all the buds, it will be another good year for these gorgeous plants.  They are usually at their peak around Mother's Day.   iPhone photos.

Bay Bridge Lights

The Bay Bridge Lights .  Thanks Heather for hanging out with me!!!!!   I enjoyed visiting with you and hope to see you soon.   I think a video of the bridge would be good to have -- it would  have shown the lights going  up & down as well as movement across the bridge.  It was really beautiful to be there and watch.       (Photomerge in Photoshop, hand held Sony NEX-7.)   I love this camera.   Photomerge was a bit more difficult this time, maybe because it was taken after sunset?    I wish I had taken a photo with my iPhone also & tried the Auto Stitch app, but I got so into the moment, was lucky to get this photo.   It's well worth a trip to San Francisco to see the lights.

Carlsbad Flower fields

Words not needed, the Carlsbad Flower fields were beautiful.  My sister & I spent several hours just walking around, lots of photography -- it was hard to say "OK, we've had enough" -- but we finally decided after about 4 hours it was time for lunch and coffee.   We found food, then wandered around the outlet stores (very conveniently located next door) and  were heading home when we saw an interesting nursery (The Mudd Potter) and made stopped to look.   Finally back on the road to my house & saw "Swami's Meditation Garden."  Of course we had to stop!   More photos to come from this beautiful garden.   Finally made it home after a long, but terrific day!
