Another photo from the Los Angeles Arboretum
I spent a few hours wandering around just the Desert Garden area of the Arboretum, the aloes were in bloom, each pathway took me to a different view of the aloes and more color! My photographs certainly don't do the area justice. This is a case where I wish I were a painter, I would just dab in large splashes of colors: bright oranges, pale oranges, yellows, many shades of greens. It was a colorful day!
If you are in the LA area, this is worth a visit! Here's a link to their website Los Angeles Arboretum

Huntington Library and Botanical Gardens
While in LA area, I spent one morning at the Huntington Library and Botanical Gardens. I spent hours wandering around, camera always ready, and took many photos. Here are just two from that day. More to come ...

Los Angeles Arboretum
Aloes in bloom |
I spent most of Thursday at the Arboretum in Los Angeles -- thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it! The official greeter seems to be the peacock, they were all over the place! Even though I was there almost 5 hours, I still didn't get to see it all. A beautiful spot in LA to spend time and just wander.

Santa Anita Race Track Photographer's Day
I drove up to the Santa Anita Race Track Photographer's Day and had a terrific time!!!!! Thanks Pamela for arranging this. (Meet-up Pacific Photography Group) I'll definitely go again next year.
Here are just three photos from the day. I was there at 6:15 AM (very cold for LA, 47 degrees) as the horses were starting to run the track. Beautiful time of day.

Early morning walk, love the early morning light on the horse. |
Early morning walk. |
End of the race. I liked seeing the horses on the huge screen AND on the track. |
