Green Heron at the San Diego Botanic Gardens

Met some out-of-town friends at the SD Botanic Gardens, always a favorite place to visit.   Today the Green Heron was at his pond, haven't seen him for months!

Santee Lakes

Had a great time today back at Santee Lakes with good friends,  Cabby & Diane from Reno and CJ & Terry from San Diego.   Sandwiches from Janet's Cafe (Santee) and perfect weather for a nice picnic.  And, of course, lots of photography!

More practice at Santee Lakes

Another great day at Santee Lakes.  I was able to photograph the Osprey again, Cinnamon teals (male & female) and what I think is a Tree Swallow.   Can someone confirm the ID of the Tree Swallow for me?   Thanks!

San Diego Sunset, Mission Bay area

On my way home from Pt. Loma, stopped by Mission Bay & stayed a bit ... hard to stop photographing the incredible sunset we had tonight.  

Back at Santee Lakes

A great way to end the month of January, I spent the afternoon photographing the American White Pelicans -- such drama today.  One of them scooped something up from the water & was determined to keep it to himself!   Several other pelicans felt it should be shared.   Here are a few of the photos I took of the meal.
